State Has Opportunity To Save Up To Half A Million Dollars Each Year

The State of Connecticut & U.S. tax payers have an opportunity to save up to half a million dollars annually by reducing inmate hospice transport costs by 84% if CT locates hospice care centrally between its largest prison facilities with hospice programs, Osborn CI(Somers, CT) & MacDougall-Walker CI(Suffield, CT).

Savings of $618k can be achieved assuming 100% of hospice inmates require basic life support transport. A conservative assumption of 5% of hospice inmates requiring basic life support transport would yield 50k annually.
